This listing is for one 3D resin printed bogie surround to fit the Hornby class 466 Networker part No X8209. It has been drawn from dimensions taken from a genuine Hornby part and developed in conjunction with a customer because Hornby cannot supply spare parts. The listing is for one bogie surround and does not include any pick ups. Unfortunately, due to the part height, it has to be posted as a small parcel.
Please note: These parts are resin 3D printed and due to the thin section on some of the suspension area, are not as strong as the original parts. Care should be taken when fitting these parts and if you do not have the skills necessary to fit delicate parts, please do not purchase. Forcing parts togethe can result in breakages and we cannot accept any returns where customers have broken the part forcing them into their model.
We do not have access to the original CAD files for this part. It has been redrawn from a broken / repaired Hornby original. While care has been taken to check the parts fit, it is possible some minor fettling may be required. If you are not capable or happy to do this, please refrain from ordering and seek an original part from Hornby or one of their spares part suppliers.
We only recommend using acrlyic paints to decorate these parts. The use of car aerosole paints may damage the resin and therefore should be avoided. Parts may distort when painted, if an even layer of paint is not applied to all surfaces. Where distortion occurs, parts can be easily straightened by immersing the part in tap hot water (never use boiling water) and allowing the part to soak for a few minutes. This will soften the resin and allow you to straighten it and hold it in the straightened position while it cools.
