Royal mail has increased it charges for 1st class mail for the second time this year.  We have always, charged postage at cost, and only used first class royal mail services.  Most of our products are shipped as a first class large letter, which now increases from £2.10 to £2.50.  Last year it was £1.95 and in 2022 £1.45.  This is totally beyond our control, but we also recognise this makes our relatively low cost products more expensive.  Our website does not allow us to offer alternative postage costs, e.g. 2nd class post at a lower cost.  We have considered changing to 2nd class post, now £1.55 for a large letter and unchanged since October 2023 increases, but 2nd class mail came be unreliable, especially leading up to Christmas.  On our ebay store, we have for some time set the default delivery to 2nd class and offered 1st class as an upgrade option but we are unable to do this on our website.  Therefore, the decision is to stick with 1st class mail, but if any customer finds the postage cost prohibitive, then contact us via email. Outside website sales, we have the option to either send you an invoice for secure online payment, where we can reduce the postage cost to second class, or we can accept payment via bank transfer where we can again obviously offer 2nd class postage.  We cannot offer paypal payment as the fees are too high.  If you wish to pay via paypal, then you can via our ebay store as usual.
